The Ironbridge Coracle Regatta,
Bank Holiday, Monday 28th August,
In 2017 the Ironbridge Coracle Trust presented the Coracle Regatta, in conjunction with the Ironbridge Lions, at the Ironbridge Rowing Club, Buildwas Road.
From 1.00pm to 4.00pm there was a series of races for novice, intermediate and expert coracle racers, including Polo, Fish Kebabs, 360 degrees and the ever popular Have a Go .
The audience sat on the steps of the Rowing Club – at least one person per race ended up in the river.
Entertainment and refreshments on site included barbecue, ice-cream, tea and coffee, craft stalls from 12.00pm.
To enter a coracle event you just turn up on the day and register your name at the entry stand. All welcome — you didn’t have to bring a coracle, as there were spare coracles available for most races.
£2.00 car parking fee (proceeds go to local charities)
